Finally!

Our new apartment only has two places to put the tv: in the cubby on the side of the fireplace (awkward looking) or mounted above the fireplace. We decided we would mount it and bought stuff to do so. Three weeks later we finally did it! We were really nervous about it but Russ' cousin came over with his stud finder and drill and they went to work. I think it looks really good and I'm glad I don't have to hold my breath when the boys are wrestling right next to it on the floor.

This is where the tv sat for 3 weeks

Oliver wanted to help so he got out his tools

Russ and Rosco in deep conversation

Oliver took this pic (notice the finger) of them putting the tv up.

The boys wanted to see the finished result so they
                    were up later messing around.

Finally done and now Ollie wants to climb up to it!

Chocolate Chip Cookies?

So as most of you know, Russ is pre-diabetic. As a family we have been trying to eat less sugar and less carbs. Well, I was at the store and saw a bag of Splenda that said it was "great for baking". Eventhough it was like 5 bucks instead of 2, I thought we should give it a shot. They turned out pretty good and taste good too! The texture is a little "airy"? And I haven't gotten the runs so that's good. Only thing is that it says it has almost the same amount of carbs in the cookie than one made with real sugar. So, was it worth it? I think I'll save 3 dollars and just buy REAL sugar next time.

The boys enjoyed them though!

Hello Utah!

So, we did it. We left the comforts of my parents house and are renting an apartment in Utah til we find our dream home. Ha! Not really. Any home besides an apartment would be my dream home. This place is pretty spacious though. I can stand it for a while. I love the location! Everything is so close. We have a mall, Sam's Club, Costco, Super Target, Super Wal-Mart, Five Guys, In-N-Out, and so many other places I've never heard of within 5 minutes of eachother. The best part? We live so close to Russ' work I can take the car when I want and he can walk. The boys love their new room and all the space to run around in. I'm pretty sure our neighbors below hate us already. Everything is great but I'm not feeling this cold weather. I just can't get warm. This is NOT the Spring weather I'm used to. Well, here are a few pics of our new place. Not everything is put away yet so there are still some boxes and we're waiting for a mount Russ ordered online so we can mount the tv above the fireplace. I'll try and keep this blog thingy up more often!

Casey enjoying his first snowfall!

Yep, that's a separate tub and shower. Pretty fancy, huh?

Pretty crappy shot of our living room...oh well.

"Play area"

Man, I am a horrible photographer. It's actually a quite spacious kitchen with more cabinets than we know what to do with!

The boys have their own bathroom! Woohoo!

World Cup!

The World Cup starts today and I'm pretty excited. Why? Because of the hot guys in little shorts of course! Don't get me wrong, I enjoy soccer, but I LOVE it even more when there's a hot guy to watch. Today I discovered #8 on France. If your bored and this is all that is on tv, watch for Yoann Gourcuff. MMMMMM... GO FRANCE!

Fever and a seizure

Last Friday was probably the worst day of my life. I literally thought Oliver was going to die and I was never going to see him again. Let me explain. On Thursday I took Ollie for his 18 month check-up and he got a couple vaccine shots. He was fine, no fever, just regular ol' Ollie. Friday morning he woke up a little warm. I was going to give him some Motrin, but I was running late for my kickboxing class so I forgot. When I came home an hour later he was REALLY warm. I gave him some Motrin, took off his pj's, and gave him some cold milk. I left him on the couch while I got up real quick to munch on something. When I came back to sit by him I had to do a double take. His face was blue, he was twitching and staring off into space. I screamed for my dad. I picked him, started saying his name and tried to snap him out of it. My brother (he works from home and lives here too) came running down the stairs and took Ollie while I called 911. As I was talking to the dispatcher I could hear my brother and dad trying to do everything they could think of to wake him. At one point he wasn't breathing and that's when I thought I would never see him alive again. When I told the lady on the phone he had had his vaccines (I thought he was having a horrible reaction to them) and a fever, she explained he was having a seizure. She said he would be okay and that it is what happens to young children when they get a high fever in a short amount of time. He started breathing again and soon the paramedics came and we spent the rest of the day in the ER. They told me what to do to prevent high fevers (duh!) and that it had no effect on his brain. However, he is now more susceptible to them until the age of seven. As thankful as I am that he is okay and it had no permanent damage I keep wondering how I did not know this!? It seems like everyone I tell has heard of fever seizures before but never experienced it. Now that I have experienced it, I NEVER want to again.

The Amazing Race

I LOVE LOVE LOVE them! They are probably my favorite team ever on the Amazing Race. I hope they win. They are funny and always entertaining. They're not bad to look at either. Just thought I'd share ;)
